Katrin Tofangdar

Talented and enthusiast backgammon player, promoter, and producer, Katrin Tofangdar, is an Iranian graphic designer who has dedicated all her time to pave the ground for backgammon events and to promote the game in Iran. Playing the traditional type of the game from early childhood, and getting acquainted with the modern type of playing online in 2002, She attended Istavder tour in 2010 for the first time and afterwards, appeared in many more competitions in Asia, Europe, and United States.

As a graphic designer who’s been quite familiar with the needs and wants of backgammon players, she has initiated Katgammon brand in 2018, producing many useful and creative backgammon products; a combination of design art and players’ needs and wants.

Translating the International competition Rules in Persian language, she has done all her best to promote backgammon events in Iran, encouraging players to learn the modern type of playing, and introducing them to international tournaments. That is why she’s called by Iranian backgammon players “the lady of backgammon”.
