Masayuki Mochizuki

Masayuki “Mochy” Mochizuki, born in Tokyo in 1979, has played on the international circuit since 2001. His notable tournament wins include the Las Vegas Open, the Monte Carlo World Championship in 2009 (in which he became world champion), Nordic Open Super Jackpot, the European Championship, the European Pro Championships, the Chicago Open, the Texan Backgammon Championship, Monte Carlo Open and list goes on. His latest title is winning 5k event in Melbourne Backgammon International 2020. In 2019, he earned the Super Grand Master title by playing lower than 2.5 PR over 300 exp at BMAB (Backgammon Masters Awarding Body). In the same year he won the first UBC (Ultimate Backgammon Championship) by beating Sander Lylloff. 


He was voted for #1 in the backgammon Giants List for 8 years since 2009.
